Very original!

Though your artwork may not be the best, your story and sense of pacing more then made up for it. The scenes were well planned and timed, it never felt like a scene was too long or too short. While the joke about socks has been around for ages, you took it for a very original ride that was worth watching. The animation, while limited, was good as well. And the music did a good job fitting the scenarios. Definitely another nice gem on newgrounds. 4/5, 9/10.

OxSox responds:

I really appreciate that, you hit on what I'd like to think I do best as an animator. Thanks for the review!

Fantastic!

Loved the movie, loved your animation! You did a great job with the menus, really keeping with the theme and style of the movie. I also loved the way you did the credits, very creative. The animation was wonderful as well :) Very well synched, colorful, fluid...all around A+ animation!

AntonyC responds:

Hey thanks! You have a 2Ghz+ CPU, obviously...
I guess I should've mentioned that's kind of a requirement.

Great style!

I loved the backgrounds, very well done! Good weird music too. Got a good style goin on, keep it up :)

k

Couldn't do better then that

Seriously, I wanted to make a music video to that song too, and I don't think I could have done it any better! Fantastic job!

AcidX responds:

Heehee, this video was just waiting to happen =D

I'm sorry, but it's just boring

I mean, granted, I made a flash animation about love and loss as well, but this one, with it's emotional theme, just seemed very...boring. You could have done more with it. It was almost like still images after text. Plus, like another reviewer said, what if the person has no friends to help them through their problems?

You got talent, but this particular animation, I just didn't get it, sorry.

OurGuardian responds:

Your animation Dying in the Sun is very good, yep!:)
Very sad and all. Its a shame you didnt get mine.

what in the...

why? I mean, you pick on a religion it looks like, you randomly kill innocents, then just end it. No beginning or end. Nothing. And that's the score you get from me.

LinkanMedia responds:

Sometimes all we need is a short skit that brings a smile to our face. This is that short skit... at least to some.

Pretty good for a first!

I like it! Keep the subtitles, dubbing just adds a world of trouble because then you have to sync up the lips again. Good style, quick and easy story to understand, great job!

artecartum responds:

I agree with you. In first, I had thought to dubd the animation to english, but I'd give up. The subtitles was the solution.

Thanks for the comment.

I just couldn't give it a bad score

I really thought the actual animation was lazy...I mean...it was just people standing around. But the voice acting and music...simply incredible. It sounds just like a standard, saturday morning cartoon! Sound is DEFINITELY you alls' strong point. The drawings themselves were great...but they need to moooooooove.

MC-Huggies responds:

lol That they do. I just didn't give myself enough time to draw different poses and use more creative animating, so unfortunately they were doomed to live a motionless life from the start...

Ah yes, Pink Floyd

About time someone would do a Pink Floyd video, I was actually thinking of doing one myself as well! My only complaint with this animation is...it just ends! I mean, the animation stops, then the music stops. No subtle fade out or anything. You don't stop a good jam session like that! Otherwise it was good though, 4/5. :)

Popeofdope responds:

Watch my other PF movie "gnome" this isnt the first time soneones done a floyd vid, and Gnome even won an award

Lovin it!

Radiohead's great, fantastic choice for a music video. Since this is a rare song, you got much of there other stuff? I love it all!

Anyways, back to the animation. It was quite fluid, and you synced it up very well. I have but one question: How did you do it? What technique did you use to have the images overlay on another and flow to black and white so easily (Like the boxes floating over the buildings, so that they were always the opposite of whatever color they were on top of)?
Good Animation!

Munglai responds:

I don't have any other rare stuff, I had to get this song from a friend's CD.

The negative black and white effect was done using masking. I had a white-on-black version of the background with the creature moving across it in black. Then I had the creature's motion copied onto a layer above that in white, which was masked by a negative copy of the background layer so that the white version only showed up whenever it was over the black parts.

Or something.

Stuck in an old school style and lovin it. Animation is truly a love/hate relationship. Hope you enjoy my cartoons!
